As the year draws to an end, it is a good time to reflect on all of our accomplishments and personal victories. We have had many this year and it is in no small part due to all our collective efforts:
- Welcomed 13 new students (7 adults & 6 kids)
- Achieved record participation at the Black Belt Camp (26 students)
- Achieved record participation at the New England Regional Championships (28 students)
- Promoted our first youth students to Black Belt
- Promoted 4 students to Cho-Dan, 2 to E-Dan, 2 to Sam-Dan
- Promoted 1 Black Belt to International Master
I am very grateful for everybody’s contribution and support as we continue to build Cambridge Tang Soo Do. The old saying, “together, everyone achieves more”, is surely true in this case. As a TEAM, we were able to accomplish some great things. I look forward to more of the same in 2014.
I would like to thank everyone for all your continued support, dedication and loyalty!!! The sky is the limit and with your help we will go very far. Keep up the great work and know you are appreciated.
Tang Soo!!!
To achieve your best in any aspect of your life, you must take action. I’m sure you realize that or you wouldn’t be training in the martial arts. Most people think before they act and that’s a good thing. Unfortunately, too many people think and think and think and never act. They fail to launch their action plan. Even worse, they fail to create an action plan. Sometimes it’s because they fear failure, other times they are waiting for everything to be exactly right to get started and sometimes they are just plain lazy. Some people suffer with a condition known as the “fear of rejection”. That is, they are afraid of how others will judge them if they are not successful so better to not try at all. What a shame and pity.
Achievers are action oriented, they don’t wait, they create. Once you decide you want to achieve or attain something, take action Today…and Tomorrow. But don’t wait until tomorrow to get started. Almost everyone has something they wished they had done or should have done. Maybe it was to start training in the martial arts sooner, maybe it was to start a diet sooner or start saving money sooner. If that describes you, realize you are not alone. Learn from your past…repeat what works and change what doesn’t.
If you have a tendency to procrastinate or avoid taking action; change your approach and take Action! Nike’s famous ad says “Just do it!” Many times that is a very fitting saying that applies to many things we should just do. It’s never too late to get started. However, the sooner you get started…the sooner you succeed. We can’t be afraid of new things and we can’t shy away from challenges either. Whether it is meeting a new person, designing our lives with the right calling, taking a new class, or even taking on the challenge of a new promotional test…we owe it to ourselves to at least try.
Become an Action Oriented Achiever…Do it Now!
On October 19, 2013, 18 students from Cambridge Tang Soo Do attended the 8th annual New England Regional Championships in Dover, NH. Congratulations to all the participants and a special thanks to Masters Brian and Robyn Hebert for hosting the championships at their Dojang.
A special congratulations also goes out to Mr. Thomas, Mr. Green, Samantha Averitt, Finn Paquette and Alex South for succesfully testing at the Dan Shim Sa. I look forward to seeing them wear their new Black Belts soon.

Every Day in Every Way, We Get Stronger & Stronger!
Christian Klacko : September 5, 2013 7:12 am : newsThat’s what we call a “Truth in Advance” statement. By focusing our beliefs and thoughts on becoming stronger and stronger in everyway, we tend to move in a direction and take actions that will lead us toward the results we desire. As highly active athletes and peak performers in life, we all strive to be the best, as a Black Belt Leaders & Champion we always aim to become better and stronger in everything we do. The Martial Arts strengthens and improves people of all ages, mentally, physically and emotionally. Conditioning and improving your mental attitude and emotional well being is just as important as conditioning your physical body for competition. Learning to mentally prepare yourself to give high levels of intensity during your workouts, can lead to a better mindset in everything else we do. Developing and conditioning yourself to work harder, train harder and live life to the fullest.
“Everyday in every way—I get stronger and stronger!”
Repeat this statement to yourself several times a day for the next few weeks and watch your attitude improve. You will be practicing an affirmative statement of your true potential and you’ll be constantly reminding yourself of your core objective. A positive outlook and an optimistic attitude will always create a higher energy level and improve your overall performance in all areas of life.
