Habit of Action => Today Not Tomorrow!

To achieve your best in any aspect of your life, you must take action. I’m sure you realize that or you wouldn’t be training in the martial arts. Most people think before they act and that’s a good thing. Unfortunately, too many people think and think and think and never act. They fail to launch their action plan. Even worse, they fail to create an action plan. Sometimes it’s because they fear failure, other times they are waiting for everything to be exactly right to get started and sometimes they are just plain lazy. Some people suffer with a condition known as the “fear of rejection”. That is, they are afraid of how others will judge them if they are not successful so better to not try at all. What a shame and pity.

Achievers are action oriented, they don’t wait, they create. Once you decide you want to achieve or attain something, take action Today…and Tomorrow. But don’t wait until tomorrow to get started. Almost everyone has something they wished they had done or should have done. Maybe it was to start training in the martial arts sooner, maybe it was to start a diet sooner or start saving money sooner. If that describes you, realize you are not alone. Learn from your past…repeat what works and change what doesn’t.

If you have a tendency to procrastinate or avoid taking action; change your approach and take Action! Nike’s famous ad says “Just do it!” Many times that is a very fitting saying that applies to many things we should just do. It’s never too late to get started. However, the sooner you get started…the sooner you succeed. We can’t be afraid of new things and we can’t shy away from challenges either. Whether it is meeting a new person, designing our lives with the right calling, taking a new class, or even taking on the challenge of a new promotional test…we owe it to ourselves to at least try.
